Notice of activity within the Morlais Demonstration Zone

Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) deployments in the Morlais Demonstration Zone (MDZ)

HydroWing, one of the Morlais technology developers, successfully deployed 2 ADCPs in the MDZ over the week of 16th January 2023. They are located at the following coordinates:

  1. 53⁰682 N 004⁰ 42.561 W
  2. 53⁰333 N 004⁰ 42.634 W

 

The ACDPs will remain in situ on the seabed until they are retrieved, most likely in a good weather/tidal window in February/March 2023 onwards. Notifications will be issued in advance of any retrieval operations.
