Bangor University Guest Talk
Last week Helen Roberts the Environment and Compliance Project Manager delivered a guest lecture at Bangor University.
This is the third time Menter Môn have been invited to Bangor University to discuss the Morlais tidal energy scheme and the Marine Characterisation & Research Project with environmental science students studying a renewable energy module.
Helen presented to around 30 3rd year students, all keen to learn about tidal energy and possible career paths in the growing industry. The key focus of the talk was Morlais’s development over the years, tidal energy converters which will be deployed and the work being done to monitor and protect the marine mammals and their habitat.
Helen Roberts, Environment and Compliance Project Manager said: “These conversations are vital to show how research, innovation and environmental responsibility come together in real-world projects.”
Engaging with the next generation is an important part of our work in Menter Môn, returning to Bangor University reinforces the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in shaping the future of renewable energy.
